COVID-19… are we still operating?

This is a funny time of the year, Australia has been hit with bush fires, a shortage of toilet paper, Holden no longer manufacturing and now a common cold strong enough to wipe out a nation.

As you would have heard (it’s almost hard to escape the hourly update) this deadly disease is rampaging through the world. What started as a bat bite in china has now escalated to a world wide pandemic! This has caused many distributions in your daily life and many workplaces, with a lot of hospitality and tourism businesses going under and having to let go staff. It is truely a terrible time in our world, which is why we all need to band together to get out of this on top. It is all too easy to let it overcome you, stay at home, hind and isolate from the world until it is gone; using it as an excuse to become lazy and ‘take a holiday’. In this time, it is the time to rise above it, do what you can to help out, stay on top of things, further yourself as much as you can.

Support your favourite local businesses, help out your elderly neighbour (provided you aren’t infected), if you’re stuck at home use it as an opportunity to clean you house (thoroughly) the thing you’ve been meaning to do for multiple months, spending time with your family and loved ones, focus on what your future will entail; are you going to work on your CV so when it has finally all blown over you can find a new job, are you going to focus on pushing your side hustle, work on a better you? The possibilities are endless, and if it has taught us anything, it is that this is a time for reflection. You know have the time to think about what life really means to you, and how you can make yourself a better person.

Petal and Sage are in the fortunate position to still be able to operate! We still have access to fresh local flowers, phone lines and an internet connection. Until told otherwise by the government (who are doing a banging job considering the circumstances) we will still have our doors open, and welcome everyone in with a happy smile (and some hand sanitiser). In the unfortunate event of having to close our doors, we will still be available for delivery’s via our website or phone orders. This means you can still send flowers to your loved ones for sympathy, miss you, congratulations, get well soon, love you, thinking of you… honestly the list could go on forever. Or even send them to yourself to brighten up your day in such a grim time.

The Petal and Sage team hope you are staying happy and healthy, and if there is anything we can do to help during this stressful time don’t hesitate to get in contact with us, either online or via our socials!
